Email & selling
Systeme.io vs Kit: start with the job your email needs to do
Choose the shortlist around your first complete customer journey. A newsletter with occasional product links has different needs from a funnel that collects a lead, sends follow-up emails, takes payment and delivers a course.
Systeme.io is the more natural first candidate when you want those pieces in one place. Kit is the more natural first candidate when publishing and organising an email audience is the centre of the business. That is an editorial judgement about product fit, not a claim that either converts better.
| Your immediate requirement | First option to investigate | What changes the decision |
|---|---|---|
| Publish a weekly newsletter without automated sequences | Kit Free | Check your subscriber count and whether you actually need paid automations |
| Collect leads and deliver one simple course | Systeme.io Free | Check funnel, course and contact limits against the complete journey |
| Build several email sequences around an existing shop or course platform | Kit Creator | Confirm the required integration before paying |
| Reduce the number of separate funnel, email and course systems | Systeme.io | Confirm the specific feature you would be replacing, including export and migration needs |
The public Free limits differ: Systeme.io advertises 2,000 contacts, three funnels and one course; Kit advertises up to 10,000 subscribers for broadcasts, forms and landing pages. Kit's current Free help page places sequences and visual automations on paid plans. Older comparisons describing a free automation should not drive this purchase. Systeme.io pricing, Kit Free plan.
Compare the plan you would use
At 1,000 subscribers, Kit Creator is $39 month to month or $390 paid annually. Systeme.io Startup is advertised at $17 monthly or $170 annually, with a 5,000-contact tier. These capacities and products are different; the price difference alone does not determine the better purchase. Kit billing, Systeme.io pricing, Systeme.io annual prices.
For a 700-subscriber creator sending one weekly update, paying for either upgrade before identifying a Free-plan blocker could be avoidable. For a creator with 700 subscribers and a required three-message sequence, compare the real sequence workflow rather than treating both free plans as equivalent. For someone already running a separate course platform, include its remaining contract and migration work before calling an all-in-one switch a saving.
Run a small decision test
Write one real journey using owned material: the signup page, the message the buyer receives, the purchase action and the delivery step. Identify which product handles each step. Record any required integration, missing feature and manual handoff. Send only to your own test address using permitted test methods.
Then check the merchant's actual order screen for the plan, currency, tax, billing interval and first renewal. Do not buy a higher plan just because a comparison table contains more ticks.
No extra OfferGraph discount is established here. Prices are merchant-advertised USD amounts checked on 14 September 2026, not a UK checkout quote. We have not tested deliverability, measured conversion or ranked audio, editor or support quality.
